9/26 Blog

The video I watched is a person walking around Japan and using the language in real world scenarios. It's the closest thing that I can get to in comparison to living in Japan, which makes it a great learning tool.

どがは日本語じまくとえいごじまくを使用しています。 which is great for learning Japanese because it covers both ends of the spectrum.

Yes, when he uses basic nouns and sayings, I am able to detect them the infer what the sentence is saying. Since the video is intended for intermediate users, I am not able to fully grasp each and every sentence, but I am able to get the "gist" of each sentence which is all I can ask for.

Blog Post 9/19

This is a very interesting documentary about a village that lives for free in the Mountains of Japan. The relationship between old and young people is quite interesting in this documentary.

In the village, the people simply do tasks that are fun without working and is a complete shift from the way we live our lives in the United States.

Yes, I actually noticed a lot of location nouns, (この、その、あそこ)The knowledge of these location nouns helped me understand where objects were which gave be a whole new understanding of the media.

Caleb Chumley Elem Japanese Blogs (2)

Hello once again, I chose to write on my experience watching a documentary called "The Imperial Palace in Tokyo (NHK program with English subtitles)" ドキュメンタリーが大好き。

The documentary was re-aired in January 1989 (1989年1月) , right after the passing of Emperor Showa (Hirohito).

ドキュメンタリーを見て日本語をべんきょしています。私はまちがいなくもっとドキュメンタリーを見ます!
